JICNY Volunteers
JICNY is a volunteer driven organization. Many of our participants find that the best way to meet new people and become part of the community is to volunteer in various capacities. If you would like to volunteer for JICNY, please email us at Events@jicny.com and let us know. We would be happy to welcome you to our growing team Below are some of our volunteers who help make our JICNY events even more exciting!
Volunteer in the Spotlight
We are grateful to all who contribute to make this a successful organization and are very proud to present this month's volunteer in the spotlight. This month's volunteer in the spotlight is Julie Yusupov, from the former Soviet Republic. Not only does she contribute to JICNY, she brings many other people from all over the world to our wonderful community. She serves as our constant cheerleader and provides endless support to the organization.
More specifically, as a volunteer Julie has served our community by organizing Russian class and assisting every Monday night. She is also our marketing guru, as she advertises all of JICNY's events and dinners to her entire social network. When we spoke with her, she told us that she felt her most important accomplishment within this organization was being honored for her involvement at the second annual fundraising dinner, this past June.
On a more personal level, Julie graduated from the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University six years ago. She is currently employed by Optima Funds Management and has also worked for Hedge Fund World - GlobeOp Financial Services. She learned of JICNY when a friend brought her to one of our Shabbat dinners and enjoys the organization because she has made so many new friends and she enjoys the variety of events and activities available.
Now 28 years old, Julie looks forward to doing whatever is needed to keep JICNY fun and enjoyable. She looks forward to introducing more exciting and interesting people to the community.
Ambassadors
New York City's Jewish Community is unique, vibrant, and thriving. There is room for everyone to meet new people and build their own social circle. But really the most fun and the most comforting is meeting people from your home country and finding that you have so much in common.
JICNY offers International Ambassadors to help ease your transition into American life and more specifically, New York City life. These Ambassadors speak your home language and understand the experience of being new. This knowledge can help ease your transition and help you start building social connections. This program is for international Jews in their 20's and 30's.
Ambassadors are always knowledgeable about events inside and outside of our forum. So whether you're looking for a place to go on a Saturday night or you can’t seem to find your way around town they can help! Our ambassadors are also part of the many smiling faces at our events and are always meeting and greeting new people. We are always looking for new ambassadors to add to our amazing team. If you are interested, please contact Maral and Jodi and Events@JICNY.com.
