Knowing about business makes you more interesting in conversations.
Networking List:
- Quentin’s friends
Business Cards & Email Address:
- State what you do
- Use back of card to tell more
- Your email address should not be AOL or Yahoo, but one with a domain name
- You can maintain Yahoo accounts, etc. and just forward them to the domain
- Use email signatures on all email correspondence – increases branding and people learn what you do professionally
Meeting Places
Where you meet says so much about you. Many up-market hotels have lobbies that you can sit in. Often no drink expected. A pot of coffee costs the same as a Starbucks latte.
Jodi’s Favorites:
- Marriott Marquis Lobby (1535 Broadway) – busy and professional; central location with Starbucks in the Lobby
- Royalton Hotel (44 West 44th Street)
- W Hotel Lobby Bars
