Raising a Mensch class with Slovie
Dear Friends,
We are living in incredible times. And I know that it is easy to feel overwhelmed with it all.
There is a sense that our families are vulnerable as we raise children and sustain relationships while the world around us seems out of control.
We want to hold onto all that is precious; our marriages, our relationships, our children.
Is there anything we can do to make our homes feel more secure? Can we maintain peace and tranquility?
Of course we can.
This year, more than any year before, is the time to make studying your priority.
This year, be the best that you can be. Tap into your roots. Explore the miracle that lies within the soul.
We are asking that, if possible, a donation of $180 be given as membership in young couples.
I look forward to greeting you personally. Together we will build homes filled with blessing and joy.
Fondly, Slovie

A Sephardic Woman’s Ancestral Journey in Flamenco Dance with 92y
Leilah Broukhim with Amir John Haddad, Juan Jimenez, Ismael Fernandez,
Mati Gonzalez, Luis Amador and Bahramji. Artwork by Elisabeth Louy.
This original flamenco performance depicts the personal and ancestral journey of a Sephardic woman from her family’s expulsion from Spain, to their life in Persia, to her return to Spain as a flamenco dancer. Created and performed by acclaimed flamenco dancer Leilah Broukhim, this highly personal work is an intimate expression of Ms. Broukhim’s roots, her personal journey and the history of her people. Accompanied by Sephardic, Ladino and Persian music performed by a Spanish ensemble, the result is a moving and unforgettable work of music, dance and art, which reminds us that the traces of our past define our present and our future. U.S. Premiere of the full production of Dejandro Huellas, parts of which were previewed last year at 92Y as a work in progress.
Part of the Flamenco Festival USA 2012
